What up, kids!
As you may or may not know, Wars and Politics of Ice and Fire has its own Tumblr page (as well as its own Twitter and Facebook pages). Even more excitingly, we here at the blog have partnered with ASOIAF University to answer questions about A Song of Ice and Fire. We – that is, SomethingLikeaLawyer and I – take the text-based questions submitted to us, write up thoughtful, text-based answers, and publish these answers on the Tumblr.
Another busy week at Wars and Politics of Ice and Fire Headquarters. The Hand is always brilliant and wonderful when discussing Robert’s Rebellion, and this week was no exception: he imagined the impact of Jaime confessing just what had caused him to kill Aerys II, and discussed the justification for the war. We also both got to be a little creative this week, with the Hand identifying his favorite “character” the show created and me coming up with fitting house words for House Gardener. On the non-ask side, I also published the next piece of the Heirs in the Shadows series, The Ward at Rosby.

Be safe and make good choices,
The Queen Regent (NFriel)
For a TV show, strikes me that Dunk and Egg would be the easiest. Limited special effects, no huge battles, small cast and Dunk always comes out alright, even if he doesn’t get what he really wants.
As for Jeor, maybe he just took it with him viewing his family to be ruined. Of course it wouldn’t explain why he never sent it back later on, perhaps that was his intent for his death until he met Jon and started seeing him as a chance to properly raise a man into an honorable and just leader.
There also seems to be hints that Hodor might be another descendant. We know that Dunk will be traveling to Winterfell before long and in Bran’s vision of the past he sees a very tall man kissing someone in front of a tree at Winterfell.
On the Kingsguard, Stannis could make his own to replace any appointed by Joffrey or Tommen. Since his position is that all of Cersei’s children are illegitimate and pretenders to the throne, by law it follows that they cannot appoint any to the organization and so as he is the legal king it is within his rights to appoint the true replacements.
